Faith Formation

As we plan for our 2026-2027 Faith Formation year, we are seeking individuals who have a desire to share their faith with the youngest members of our parish community. We are looking for volunteers for a variety of roles including catechists, assistants, hall monitors and more. Gardening Angels

Volunteers are hard at work weeding and maintaining the parish garden. This garden produces over a ton of food that is delivered to local food pantries and shelters. They are seeking helping hands every Sunday from 3:00-5:00 pm in the garden located north of the school, next to the track. Please come join the fun!

Connection Café

Did you know that St. Francis serves lunch at the Connection Café on the third Wednesday of each month? Connection Café provides lunch five days a week to hundreds of individuals experiencing homelessness or food insecurity in downtown Des Moines.

As the need continues to grow, our Connection Café committee is looking for additional volunteers to help by preparing casseroles, purchasing needed items, and assisting in other ways. If you would like to be added to the contact list, please email Carole Chambers at caroleannchambers@gmail.com.
