Cantor Ministry – Director: Emily Schmid

This ministry is open to advanced-level singers who wish to expand their ministry by leading the gathered assembly in song and prayer. The ability to read music is required and an audition will be requested. Training and formation will be provided. For those who have never served as cantors before, we ask that you become a member of one of our SFA choirs for at least three months before beginning the formal cantor training.

Bells of Assisi – Director: Pat Christensen

The St. Francis Hand Bell Choir, The Bells of Assisi, is composed of eleven ringers (and a number of faithful substitutes) with some musical background and the ability to read music. The Hand Bell Choir plays a variety of music from traditional to contemporary to spirituals and everything in between. Active from September through May, The Bells of Assisi play for two Masses every month and rehearse on Sundays at 4:30 to 6:00 pm in the St. Clare room. St. Francis of Assisi Children's Choir (SFACC) – Director: Lindsay Struecker
SFA Children's Choir (CC) is for ALL children in the parish who are in grades 3-5. Practices are each Wednesday night from 5:45 to 6:15 in the school music room. We lead one Mass each month and RE masses throughout the year, sing on Christmas Eve, Easter and lead one of the First Communion Masses. We are one busy, talented and fun group! We would love to have anyone who has an interest to join us! Our philosophy is "Family First" and we understand that sometimes it's just not possible to make it to every practice and/or mass. St. Francis of Assisi Middle School Choir – Director: Audra Meyer
Middle School Music Ministry needs YOU! Any youth in grades 6-8 who like to sing contemporary Christian music, would enjoy leading Mass and just like to have a good time are welcome! We meet each Sunday night from 5:45-6:15 in the St. Clare room. We lead two Masses each month, lead RE Masses throughout the year, sing on Christmas Eve, Easter and lead the First Communion Masses. We keep things really informal and occasionally celebrate with pizza and ice cream. Contact Audra at

Liturgy of Life – Director: Jean Fox

Liturgy of Life (LOL) is a group of high school students who come together to share their musical gifts with their church family. Formal music training or the ability to read music is not required. The desire to share your faith through song is. LOL sings for Mass twice a month and rehearsals take place Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. in the St. Francis School band room. Additionally, LOL also sings for the St. Francis Confirmation Masses, Dowling Catholic High School Baccalaureate, as well as other celebrations throughout the year. Praise Choir – Director: Kari Stone

An adult contemporary choir mixed with violin, drums, bass, piano, and occasional tambourine. Our main goal is to have fun while celebrating our God through song. Ability to read music is not required. We meet Monday nights from 7:00-8:00 pm in the sanctuary and typically lead 2 Masses each month. Contact Kari at

Knights of Columbus Choir – Director: Dan Werner

The Knights of Columbus Men's Choir sings about twice a quarter, typically at the Saturday 4:30 Mass, but at other times for special occasions. Any man in the parish, regardless of participation in the Knights of Columbus, is welcome to sing. Rehearsals are at 3:30 right before Mass. Schola – Director: Angie Murphy
Schola (meaning “small ensemble”) is a group of vocalists and instrumentalists who want to sing for Liturgy, but time for a formal practice during the week is difficult. The choir member practices at home on their own part so the ability to read music and feel comfortable on a given choral part is required. Schola sings for Mass twice a month at the 4:30 and 9:30 Liturgies. Rehearsals take place one hour prior to their scheduled Mass.
